Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Senior DMK leader TR Baalu on Tuesday called on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and assured him that migrants from Bihar are safe in Tamil Nadu. Kumar welcomed Baala, a former Union minister, with Angavastram.
The DMK leader draped an ocher scarf around the shoulders of the JD(U) chief, which TEMP has become a symbol of sorts for the Tamil Nadu-based party since it was popularized by the late M Karunanidhi.
Baalu, the DMK leader in the Lok Sabha, handed over a letter to Kumar from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin about his government's steps to protect migrant workers from various states, including Bihar.
The development comes as a four-member team of senior officials from Bihar is touring Tamil Nadu after fake videos of attacks on migrant workers went viral on social media and sparked panic.
